Google Ads now come with Broad Match as a default setting
(Source)
Google came up with yet another way to boost AI-driven paid campaign management.
It has made Broad Match a default setting in Google Ads. This means that it will be easier for the novice to reach their target audience.
But the experts who use their special targeting strategies (phrase or match) would need to put in extra work to disable it. It is because broad matching is the most ineffective match type.
If left unchecked, it can increase the cost per click. While it can be prevented by placing negative keywords, it still adds one more task to the big work list that advertisers have to cover on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, Google also launched an update in Query Matching for PPC campaigns.
