Reddit bans all search engines except Google
Reddit just took a major step and banned all search engines and AI chatbots except Google.
Why? Because they now have made access to their data a paid service!
Google has paid USD 60 million to Reddit to keep their access going and will be using it to train its AI models.
Starting from July 1st, 2024, Reddit updated their robot.txt file to take out search engines like Bing, Duck Duck Go, Mojeek, Qwant, and more of the free services.
This is big news, as it means that Reddit data will now be sold to the paying AI models and search engines!

Google’s DeepMind AI can now solve complex Math
Google’s DeepMind AI just proved its mathematical prowess by solving 4 out of 6 problems presented to it.
Its two components, AlphaGeometry 2 and AlphaProof, solved questions that were provided by the International Mathematical Olympiad, or IMO. They won the Sliver Medal!
IMO is used to judge the math skills of high school students and find the best!
These math problems are not easy for AI, and this is the first time any AI has been able to do it.
Weird right? AI is still learning high school math and winning medals while competing with school students!

How should CTOs and CIOs react after the CrowdStrike blunder at Microsoft?
The Microsoft Windows outage caused by the infamous CrowdStrike update last weekend really shook the world.
Everyone was worried that their Windows 10 and 11 will be stuck in BSOD, or blue screen error. But later it was found that only the big enterprises that use CrowdStrike for their network security were affected.
That means that the big enterprises need to rethink their network security!
A few changes that the CTOs and CIOs can undertake are,
- Having a third-party security provider (except Microsoft)
- Making remote access and recovery easier by removing extra encryption layers
- Having more control over the solutions getting deployed for their companies
- Enabling IT teams to resolve issues internally (BSOD can be temporarily resolved by going to Safe Mode and restoring to a Restore point)
These times can be challenging, and that’s why we tried to help with this blog!

Google steps back on Third Party Cookies Removal
Google has just made an announcement that they will not be removing third party cookies from Google Chrome.
They came up with an announcement that they would remove them in 2020. In April 2024, they informed that third party cookies will be removed in 2025.
This latest announcement is great news for marketers, as the data collected via third party cookies helps in creating ideal user personas and retargeting the best possible users.
But for the users, it takes away their hopes of keeping their data secure. Google has promised something that protects the data privacy rights of Chrome users in the near future.
Meanwhile, you can read our Marketing Director’s take on this!
