This week was charged with politics as Indian general body election results were announced. The incumbent PM, Narendra Modi, was elected once again, and he will take the oath on June 9, 2024.
These elections had various implications, be they domestic, stock market, or international, as India is currently leading world politics. And everybody breathed a sigh of relief as the NDA regained its majority.
But that’s not all that happened this week; be it AI PCs or Google’s Search data leak and more, we got it all for you! We know you missed us this past month; we were busy rebirthing Wildnet Technologies!
So, let us start off this weekly roundup with the top news.
AI PCs: The next big thing after WiFi
Top IT maestros like Intel, Nvidia, AMD, and Qualcomm are in a race to develop AI-enabled processors. The Computex Taipei, or Taipei International Technology Show, became the centre point of this new revelation.
Computex Taipei happens every year since the 2000s, and this year it happened from June 4th to 7th, 2024. Taiwan, being the global supplier of semiconductor chips for all sorts of electronic devices, became the ground zero for AI PCs.
What is an AI PC?
AI-enabled PCs will have inbuilt capabilities to support and run AIs smoothly. These PCs will have stronger and heavy-duty motherboards or processors, as AI needs more computing power, and electricity (better power supply and circuitry) and is bound to produce more heat (better cooling apparatus).
As per Christiano Amon, Qualcomm chief, AI PCs will rebirth the PC industry. It is as big as Windows 95 (which was way better than its predecessor, Windows 3.1). Since the Internet, or Wifi, was launched in 1994, the same time as Windows 95, Windows 95 + Internet led to a huge boost in computer and router sales.
PCs were getting outdated, and people were switching to hand-held devices. But with this revolutionizing innovation, PCs will be back with AI!
GPT-4o: 5 ways to use it for free
OpenAI launched its latest edition of ChatGPT by the name of GPT-4o. It has various new features and can integrate audio, text, and video into a single model. It will have quicker response times, better reasoning ability, and improved performance even in non-English languages.
It is 50% cheaper and 200% faster compared to the GPT-4 Turbo. Here’s how you can use it for free:
Poe
A chatbot to access AI models. Create a chat, select GPT-4o in the “More” section, and voila!
Vercel AI Playground
A platform to access AI models and combine them. Create a chat and choose GPT-4o on the top left.
You

ChatGPT
It allows free usage a few times. Upload a file or an image and start asking questions; GPT-3.5 cannot comprehend image data!
LMSYS Chat
It is an AI playfield to use AI models. Go to the Direct Chat, and on the drop-down button, select “GPT-4o-2024-05-13.”.
Take GPT-4o for a spin!
Instagram to be like YouTube: Unskippable Ads
Meta is testing out unskippable ads on Instagram, just like the ones we encounter on YouTube. It has come to the notice of a few users until now!
As per Business Insider, there will be two versions of Instagram in the near future. One will be ad-free and paid, while the free version will have unskippable ads. Instagram has previously acquired features from other platforms, like
- Reels from TikTok and
- Threads from X (Twitter).
The ads come with a small counter called “ad break” visible at the bottom part of the screen. Instagram and TikTok engagement growth is going head-to-head with 9% to 8%, and this change could benefit Instagram.
SEO after Google’s Content Warehouse API leaks
2569 documents were leaked from Google’s internal services, which were found by Erfan Amizi. Erfan brought it to Rand Fishkin’s attention, and the authenticity of the documents was checked as well. The documents are older than August 2023, and 57% are related to searches.
What does this mean in terms of SEO?
Well, SEO is done based on a bunch of best practices derived from 1990–2000, updated as per Google’s updates, and modified as per SEO strategists’ analytical thinking. But no one actually knows what happens inside Google’s algorithms!
These documents can be the key to breaking into Google’s thinking mind. A few things to pay heed to:
- SEO and user experience (UX) must be in-line
- Pay attention to click metrics
- Use focused content
- Keep experimenting
- Clickstream Data
- SERP format diversity should be used to build content and keyword strategies
- Use long page titles
- More content, fewer authors
- Link relevance of sites
- Original instead of Long form
- Date consistency
- Older domains need extreme care
- Documents should be gold-standard
But you can always examine them yourselves!
Lighthouse Learning’s #DontSkipTheFirstPage on World Environment Day
We have all done it without even knowing the reason behind it or its impact! But Lighthouse Learning, an education group focused on ages 12 and below, ensured that this World Environment Day, i.e., June 5, 2024, we paid heed!
With their #DontSkipTheFirstPage campaign, they wish to encourage people to understand that by leaving a single page or notebook, we are wasting the sacrifices of thousands of trees.
It is part of their CSR, or corporate social responsibility, initiative for the sustainability of the environment. Skipping the first page is just an alleged tradition, and once we start talking about a single page, we will be able to assess and reduce our paper consumption and be more eco-conscious from now on.
Here’s what we did at Wildnet to commemorate June 5, 2024!
Indian Stock Market Crash of June 4, 2024: Rs. 14 lakh crore lost
Due to the unprecedented election results for the next Prime Minister candidate in India, the Indian stock markets crashed. The total money loss was accounted for at around INR 14 lakh crore as investor wealth decreased from Rs. 425 lakh crores to Rs. 411 lakh crores.
Sensex dipped 2700 points, while Nifty was down 769 points. This happened because Exit Polls for this election predicted a remarkable victory for the NDA with 400+ seats out of 543. Stock markets even touched the COVID time numbers, during the crash. The top losses were faced by banking, capital goods, and auto sector industry shares.
This happened because the investors who were to benefit from a stable government believed in the exit polls, but later, when the results came, they started panicking and took out their money as only 293 seats were won by the NDA.
While the market was going down, people who wished to invest could not because third-party apps like Groww, Zerodha, Upstox, Angel One, and more faceddelaysy from BSE, or Bombay Stock Exchange Limited.
This further incited the stock frenzy. But as the days progress and the NDA is looking at a stable third term, stock markets are balancing out too!
This brings our fifth edition of the weekly roundup to an end. We would like to leave with a piece of advice that we gained from our insights this past week. We are all interconnected and can live and grow together, but individually, we won’t last long! Be it an election, our environment, or the things that we do as individuals, everything is connected.
